The article to the left was taken from The Free
Press Standard dated October 3, 2007.

It tells of the construction  or maybe I should
say re-construction of the old Slaughter House
which was located just south of Dellroy on
Explorer Road and operated by George German.

The land on which the building was located was
owned at the time by Irvin and Faye Little  and
after Irvin's death, Faye donated the slaughter
house building to the Carroll County Historical
Society.  

The pictures above show the building and its contents.  These pictures were taken just before it was dismantled.
The article states that it is not sure Mr. German butchered his animals here but as you can see is equipped to do just
that.  I feel sure he would not have built such a detailed building if he didn't plan on using it to supply products for his
meat market.
