This house stood on the east side of
Smith Street at the corner of Main.
It caught fire and burned nearly to the
ground. It was razed and is now a
vacant lot.
Located on the corner of S.Arch Street & Main.
Back in the late 40's & early 50's, Mr. & Mrs. Burns
lived here. Mr. Burns was the H.S. principal.
This house was located on N.Ohio Street. It was
owned by Clyde & Nola Allerton and the first year
they were gone from it, the fire department used it
as a haunted house at halloween. It was razed
soon after.
This house was located on N. Main street at the
corner of N. Arch St. It is now a vacant lot.
This shows the block on N. Main Street between the
alley and N. Ohio. This was taken in its later days
and appears that the windows are already removed
from this end.
The picture above was taken around 1952 or 53 below the school house. Many a softball
game took place at recess or during the lunch break. Several of these students are
identifiable but they will remain nameless for now.
I left the picture large so you can see the farm in the background. It is no longer there, but
you can see the large white trees to the left as you drive toward Carrollton on SR 39.
This house was removed and the
eats stand for the fire department
was built on the lot.
You can see the back of the fire
department building through the
back porch on the house.
It is on N. Ohio Street.
These two buildings are the same....The one on the right shows the building as it was used for a market and appartments. Mr.
Tinlin had a grocery, Mr. Starlin had a grocery and Mr. Keifer also ran a grocery in the building for a time. Mr. Keifer also had
the feed store. In the picture on the right, you can see the house that once was the Nazarene parsonage. It burned to the
ground and the Methodist Church purchased the area for a parking lot.
The above two pictures are of a
barn and house located on
SR542, now Lodge Road. It was
known back then as the Medved
property and a family by the
name of Bush bought it. I
remember that someone in the
family was a pilot and would land
and take off to the north of the
road. Later it was used to raise
pigs and on a windy day, the
town was given a rare perfume.
The Dellroy Fire Department
burned the barn and the house
was razed.
Today it is difficult to know
exactly where the buildings
stood, but it was just west of town.
