The teacher of this group was Ethel Snee.  The students are mostly unknown but it was taken beside the old
elementary school.
The article at the left is about the
teacher in the above picture.

Jim West remembers her because
she would call him each fall to clean
her spoutings and check out the
Christmas lights on a pine tree in her
back yard when she lived on South
Arch in town.  For payment he would
charge her $3.00.  She would pay
him the amount and add an
additional $2.00 and two cookies, if
he sat down and ate them there.
This is of a later group of baseball players from Dellroy and the area.  Probably taken in the early 60's.
Isn't this scene a peaceful setting?  I have
no idea where it is from but it reminds me
of when we would go fishing below Fred
Day's.  We would park at the bridge and
walk a short distance along the creek.  I
doubt if we caught much, but it was a
good way to spend the afternoon or
evening.  This appears to have been
taken years ago, probably before the lake
was put in.  It was in the collection of Don
Heidy so I would guess it is from the
Dellroy area.
This was taken from the Velma Griffin collection.  The bandwagon was decorated for the
celebration of Armistice Day, November 11, year unknown.  It was driven to Carrollton and
participated in the parade there.

This  location is Waynesburg Road and Smith Street or SR 542 at the intersection.
I would guess this picture was taken
soon after the purchase of this truck.
It looks like it won a trophy at a
homecoming parade somewhere.
The driver is Owen Day and left to
right they are:  Arnold Bernard and his
son Jim, Clyde Albaugh, "Dutch"
Gamble, and Edgar "Skeeter" Russell.

I would guess this must have been
taken in the middle to late "60's."
