Now for some corrections...if you will go back to the very first page and go about half way
down, you will see an article about the Catholic Church.
It was called to my attention that this is not of the Catholic Church which was built near the
corner of West Main and South Smith, but rather of the Methodist Church which stood, and
a church still stands, at the intersection of South Ohio and Main Street. The article was
about the Catholic Church but the picture was of the Methodist Church. I have had this
newspaper article in the files for some time and I didn't see the error. The belfry is different.
The one on the Catholic Church is open and ornate. The one on the Methodist Church is
plain and closed. Secondly, the sign "Town House" in the article is the sign that was in
front of the large building next to the Methodist Church.
To make things right, I am including a couple items about the Methodist Church.

The article to the left was printed in the
Free Press Standard of Carrollton on
August 8, 1915.
The article above was printed in the
same paper on 9/2/1915. It didn't take
them long to get a new church started.
The picture to the left is the same as
the picture on page one.
This article to the right was also taken from the
Free Press Standard in 1949 and shows the
final building.
I was given some more class pictures. Can you identify any students? If so,
please let me know...thanks!
The teacher, place and students are all
unknown. Any help?
I have enlarged this one because of the names on the side.....
