I start with this small building because it is
different. It was located on the north side of
Main Street, directly on the alley between North
Arch and North Ohio and was where the
Community Building now sits. The house to the
right was owned by Mrs. Ball who was a
registered nurse. View the buildings and walk in
the back....
This picture and the one below are of the
same building with the top picture being the
oldest. It is not too clear but that is a beer
sign hanging in the front.
It was recently the Dellroy Pizza Shop. In the
40's, Robert Mallernee bought the building
and sold appliances and the first TV in
Dellroy. There was also a soda fountain and
small restaurant.
This building was on the south side of Main Street.
The left side of the building was what is now the
current Post Office.
The building you see to the left is now the Dellroy
Hardware.
This building had a meat market.
Love those cars....
These two pictures are of the
VanKirk Coal Mine.
They are of the tipple and
power house and it was
located northwest of the
village.
This building was a funeral home for many years.
It is now a residence and a beauty shop.
The railroad and depot were north of the village. As you come into town on SR 542, you will come to a slight turn. Off to
the right was where the depot sat.
These two pictures are both taken from Main Street and North Liberty Street. Quite a difference.
This is the Hotel on South Main Street.
The pictures below are of the one-room schools in the Dellroy area. Some are identified, others
are not.
Welcome to the history of Dellroy web-page.
To those of you who have been here before, welcome back. And to those
who are visiting for the first time, we hope you find a memory or two.
