This shows the first construction of
the original building in 1925. This
was used for high school until 1959.
In 1935 the W.P.A. provided four
new classroom constructed in front
of this building. In 1958 a cafeteria,
kitchen and five classrooms were
added. In 1985 the new addition
was constructed over the cafeteria,
library and kindergarten room.
This was the first school built in Dellroy
in 1893. It sat at the eastern edge of
town on SR 39 toward Carrollton. Its
site was the Monroe Township Park.
This was the first group of
firemen in the village.
The Fire Department was
incorporated in 1949.
This was the first building
and truck.
Isn't this a happy group?
Again, this is in front of the
former Pizza Shop on Main
Street. Notice the building
to the left. The top floor has
been removed.
This was the Feed Store on South
Main Street, next to the filling
station. The Odd Fellows Lodge
held their meetings in the upper
floor for several years. I have heard
that many a card game was played
in the storeroom, however, I have
no proof.
These two pictures are of the same corner, North Ohio and Main Street. The building was a grocery for a while, operated by
a gentleman who later built the larger store on SR 39 toward Sherrodsville. It also housed a Barber Shop for a period.
This is the building referred to above as having the top floor
removed. It also at one time housed the Post Office.
This little house sat where the former Cheese House
is now, on SR 542 at the northern edge of town. I
believe Mr. Williams razed it when he built the cheese
house.
